BioPLACE began when Daniel aka Mickey(guitars, synthesizers, vocals) met Sam (synthesizers) in September of 1998. They eventually decided to have a shot at an idealistic commune-esque artistic society. Sadly, they found themselves without the means to build their utopia, so they compromised by developing experimental, often philosophically-driven music. As Andrew (synthesizers, vocals) joined their sessions, PLACE decided to approach music from more accessible angles due to a fear of pretentiousness. The result was an allegorical bit of synth-based post rock. Band members decided to pursue post-secondary education full-time in 2003 and essentially disbanded. However, they missed each other and regrouped in May 2004, when PLACE took to writing darker, yet less naive music and set out to find an equilibrium between their experimental and artistic instincts, and their desire to satisfy a diverse audience...
